Poetry has moved indiscriminately towards visuality, fragmentation, and digitalization. This change has led to the appearance of modern visual poetry as an individual poetic production with specific characteristics and techniques after years of being a mere experimental poetic activity. The characteristics, themes, and techniques of modern visual poetry as a newborn genre require a well-established mechanism of explaining, interpreting, and construing it in order to be well-perceived. The process of reading and understanding any text not only necessitates perceiving the literal meaning of the text, but also it requires understanding its deeper meaning as well. This interactive sender-receiver-reader-writer's relationship has many objectives such as enjoyment, locating specific information, identifying the theme, and evaluating the text through a critical understanding. All these objectives will never be achieved without adopting a deep, well-established mechanism for reading and understanding the text. In this regard, the presents paper aims at introducing a comprehensive understanding of visual poetry depending on the main principles of hermeneutic.
