George Payne Rainsford James (1799-1860) was a British novelist and historical writer who gained considerable popularity during the 19th century. James was a prolific writer, known for producing over 100 novels, plays, and non-fiction works. During his lifetime, James enjoyed considerable success and popularity as a novelist.
