IKONI is a diminutive in the Ditammari language of northwestern Benin, whose full meaning is INABA POUAKA KONI, which means the fonio of the Otammari people's homeland has returned.It is a view of the history related to the recent resumption of fonio production in Benin, which allows the reader to discover the path taken, the different actors as well as the difficulties and constraints along the way. It was written in the concern to remove several ambiguities on the difficult road which allowed the revival of fonio in Benin. By reading it you will feel carried away sometimes in the tradition and sometimes in the modernity and you will realize that it is really the good people who wrote this history. It could not be the only one because other people can also have their history, but this one is the oldest and almost the most exhaustive over nearly two decades.
