Autorenporträt
Laura Bratenahl Alderdice was born in Berkeley, California, in 1949 and lived there until age 10 when her family moved to rural Massachusetts. Thus began a life of change, including moves to Europe and other cities. It was also the beginning of Laura's curiosity about what's over the next horizon. One constant in her life was summers spent in the beautiful community of Inverness in Northern California. She attended UC Berkeley in the late '60s, a time fraught with social and political change. She graduated in music with a degree in flute and composition, interests that have followed her to this day. In 1971, she moved to Mexico and began writing. She lived with Mexican friends with two young daughters who taught her Spanish and how to be silly. Her passions are music, swimming, sailing, nature, physics, and her beloved family.
