A Life Well Lived is the honest, funny and poignant life story of Nancy Watts, who grew up poor in the segregated Arkansas of the 1930s, At age 17, Nancy ran away from home to escape abuse, changed her name to avoid being found, and started life on her own. After a stint in California, she ultimately landed in Bend, Oregon, and found a job as a waitress in a small mom and pop café where she met her first husband. The Browns eventually moved to Oatman, Arizona, an old mining town, and decided to relocate there to regain a sense of the simple pleasures of life. Tim attended a one-room school and flourished while learning the rigors of a rural life. After divorcing Kenneth, she met and married Glyn Watts. They spent every day together until Glyn's death 42 years later. Glyn died in 2013, after surviving two heart attacks and other insults of aging. Sadly, Tim died from a massive seizure in 2015, even though he was the epitome of health and fitness for a 67-year old man. Nancy was sent reeling from the loss of her only child, but has been sustained by the love of Betz and her family, as well as many friends. Now, at age 90, Nancy has recorded the triumphs and challenges of A Life Well Lived.
