Ellen Allgaier Fountain is a visual artist, focusing primarily on landscape painting in watercolor and mixed water-based mediums. She graduated from high school on Bainbridge Island, Washington, and earned BFA and MA degrees, in studio art and art education respectively, from the University of Arizona. She and her husband, Jim, have lived in Tucson since 1971. Their home is a Certified Wildlife Habitat on 3 plus acres in the Tucson Mountain foothills, and they share the acreage with Sonoran Desert creatures large and small.
