Story-telling through poetry is as old as History and as contemporary as Bruce Springsteen. Words form images of pirates, vigilantes, the longing of a child for his Father and Egyptian tombs with the glitter of gold and the reader is taken along on these tales within verse by David Shoemaker. David's attention to historical aspects and ability to blend narrative content into his writings gives the reader a unique perspective with plot twists added for thought-provoking enjoyment. David's knack for words that engage and create poems, short stories, and informative writing will, hopefully, be the first of many, many books. -- Greg Wright, President, Arden Writers GuildHinweis: Dieser Artikel kann nur an eine deutsche Lieferadresse ausgeliefert werden.
About the Author: David T. Shoemaker describes himself as a Poet, Artist, Philomath, and Endomorph. He was first exposed to the craft of writing poetry in a 5th Grade Poetry Workshop for advanced English students. He has been called an "Historian Poet" for his tendency to weave history, archaeology, and folklore into bardic verse. His poems are included in the "Timeless Voices" (2006) and "Forever Spoken" (2007) anthologies edited by Howard Ely. In 2017, he released the CD "Bardsongs" which featured him reading his poetry. He is currently working on developing a series of walking tours in Lancaster PA based on the life and works of Charles Demuth, an early 20th century American artist who helped introduce modernist principles to American Art, founded the Precisionist Movement, and influenced such diverse artists as Georgia O'Keeffe, Jasper Johns, Andy Warhol, and Robert Indiana.
