Fourteen -year-old Sarah has a problem. Her mother is emotionally unbalanced. This distressing family secret has already been a deterrent for her at her middle school and in her life in general. Alexis, former companion and confidante, has moved away, and Sarah feels friendless and alone with no one she can trust. Into her life comes Casey. He encourages Sarah to share her difficulties and illustrates the importance of being both courageous and forthright. Sarah gains many insights from her new ally, and she eventually realizes that true friends often reveal themselves through their good will, open-mindedness, and strength of character. Her new canine companion is another welcome addition, giving her the affection, attachment, and unconditional love she has always craved. A Lucky Turn combines the realm of psychological fiction with the endurance of the human spirit, telling the tale of separate journeys toward self-awareness and inner well-being.

Autorenporträt
Carrie Wright-Christopher is a poet and author who has enjoyed more than five decades of inspired writing. Long before her compositions received notice from teachers, professors, and others, her innate abilities confirmed her identity as a true writer. Her inquisitive nature and love of learning led to her first master's degree in library science from Queens College and a lengthy stint as a professional librarian. She received a second master's degree in clinical mental health counseling from Walden University, an undertaking that was both an exercise in self-discovery and a necessary step in determining her future path. After publishing her first novel, A Lucky Turn, she began assembling a more personal book of her past and current writings and photographs. Transformed: Poetry and Prose of a Changed Life is a photo- and autobiographical account of her journey through adulthood told in an insightful collection of writings that is organized by emotional signposts. Carrie currently assists individuals with developmental disabilities in Upstate New York. She lives the rural life with Dave Christopher, her beloved husband, who has traveled with her through a meaningful journey of learning and grace.
