This thesis presents the measurement of the inclusive cross section for central photons with transverse momentum greater than 30 GeV/c and calorimeter isolation 2 GeV using 2.5/fb of data collected by the CDF detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. This measurement includes a factor of 6 more data than the last published result, extending its transverse momentum coverage by 100 GeV/c. The cross section is measured up to 400 GeV/c, and tests the theoretical predictions over 6 orders of magnitude, one order of magnitude more than in previous results.

Carolina Deluca was born in Buenos Aires in 1980. She obtained her Physics degree at the UAB (Barcelona, 2002) and joined the ATLAS experiment with the IFAE institute for HEP research (2003). She moved to the US for her PhD on the CDF experiment at Fermilab (2007). Currently she is at CERN working as a researcher for SUNY at Stony Brook on ATLAS.
