The monogram presents development of cost effective visualization software suite for rapid visualization of the mechanical systems in a virtual prototyping environment. Key theme is parsing the ASCII files generated by modeling software (such as I-deas and AutoCAD) and rendering the corresponding image. Although several modeling softwares are readily available in the market, they require sophisticated computing platforms which are out of the reach of the small firms and independent designers. The software suite and its technical knowhow presented here exemplify development of a cost effective, spatially and temporally efficient visualization solution for manufacturing industries. Developed as a part of doctoral research work, the documentation covers literature survey, prior art, software listing of the main modules through pseudo-codes and flowcharts and elaborates on the empowerment of the designers to perform virtual prototyping before developing the physical prototypes. Reduction of manufacturing time and cost, improvement in the design efficiency are the major contributions of the visualization software suite reported here.
