Shamima Nasrin est titulaire d'une maîtrise et d'une licence de l'Université de Khulna, Khulna, Bangladesh, dans la discipline de la foresterie et de la technologie du bois, respectivement en 2015 et 2012. Elle est auteur ou co-auteur de plusieurs articles scientifiques dans le domaine de la foresterie et de la technologie du bois. Elle s'intéresse à la diversité génétique des plantes.
