The 'success' of a conversion depends on the group into which the convert is introduced. The Author: Rev. Dr. Karl Olav Sandnes is Professor in New Testament Theology at the Norwegian Lutheran School of Theology, Oslo. Born in Norway (1954), he studied at the same school, and spent two semesters doing research in Tübingen. He was Associate Professor at the School of Mission and Theology, Stavanger from 1984 to 1991. For two years he taught in Hong Kong, Lutheran Theological Seminary.
