Lilly A. Gwilliam has held a variety of positions over the course of her life, including working as a medical legal consultant, a dean of allied health, an accreditation officer, a nursing coordinator, a practitioner teacher, and a psychiatric nurse. She is also a speaker, having presented a paper on rape to the Fiji Law Society, and was able to help change the laws around rape in Fiji. Additionally, she presented a seminar on the elimination of gender bias in the legal profession at the University of Cape Town Law School in Africa and at several law conferences in California.Lilly has been inducted into the nursing honor society Sigma Theta Tau. She was nominated as one of the Outstanding Young Women of America in 1979 through a program sponsored by leading women's organizations throughout the country and is a member in Who's Who in American Nursing. Lilly was also inducted into the 2014 Massapequa High School Hall of Fame in recognition of her commitment to excellence in her profession as she honors her responsibilities to her family and community.As a writer, Lilly authored the memoir Generations of Motherhood: A Changing Story and has published a chapter in the book Women of Worth: Emotional Intelligence - Mental Health Matters by Christine Awram. She has also published several articles on the topics of nursing and law. Lilly currently lives in Alamo, California, with her husband, Gary. They have five children and eight grandchildren between them, and they enjoy spending time with their family and traveling the world.
