Autorenporträt
Doris A. Gast was born in Gary, Indiana and currently lives in Michigan City, Indiana. Her parents, John and Eulah Hall were born in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Kentucky. The family still retains the family farm there. She spent happy time each summer in Kentucky where she would play and help on her grandfather's farm. As an Adult, Doris enlisted in the United States Army, for three and a half years. Serving at Fort Rucker, Alabama and Darmstadt, Germany. She worked for Thirty-Seven years for the State of Indiana and retired in 2022. She is the mother of five sons and two daughters. She has six grandsons and six granddaughters. Doris began writing her first book, Sugar Camp, when she was eighteen years old. It was published under a pen name in 2010. A New Tomorrow is a historical prequel to her first book. She is currently working on her Third book in the Ellis Family Saga.
