Equipped with double .470's, light magazine rifles, a 10 Bore, and shotguns, they seek to take a number of specimens from the area's big game population. Their list of quarry include elephant, buffalo, eland, ibex, waterbuck, various gazelle, kob, "Mrs Gray", crocodiles and hippo's. etc. Fifty four pages are packed with exciting anecdotes of their often dangerous attempts to bag specimens of each of these. The book also contains a number of early black and white trophy photographs and an area map. The author professes to be a novice hunter, but guided by his more experienced companion ends the safari with a fair share of the total bag. This small book is a fascinating record of early big game hunting in one of the more inaccessible hunting grounds of Africa, and will prove of much interest to all sportsmen and historians of that era. Many of the earliest sporting books, particularly those dating back to the 1800s, are now extremely scarce and very expensive. Frank Weber is a freelance writer based in Erie, Pennsylvania. He has written and published one book so far, his first book, The Mist of My Dreams. Frank has also been published on and in several print magazines, books, posters and advertising campaigns as both writer and model. Frank's true passion lies in the creative process, and he finds his inspiration in the Franklin-Hemingway Thompson-Kerouac approach to writing. His work encompasses this approach through a wry witticism, coupled with firm conviction, a simple honesty in written word and enough of an edge to make people feel what they read.
