Alden Bradford (1765-1843) Was Born At Duxbury, Massachusetts, A Descendant Of Gov. William Bradford Of The Plymouth Colony. He Graduated At Harvard In 1786, Taught Briefly There, And Was Later Ordained And Served As A Pastor Of The Congregational Church At Wicasset, Maine. There, He Was Renowned As "One Of Courtly Manners, Chivalric Bearing, The Purest Pilgrim Blood, A Man Of A True Public Spirit."
