Radon and thoron are the precursor radioactive gases responsible for natural radiation exposures to general populations. The authors designed and developed passive twin-cup dosimeter system incorporating nuclear track detectors for the measurement of Radon isotopes and their decay products in Indian dwellings and investigated its performance characteristics.  Methodology was developed for estimating their contribution to inhalation radiation doses to general public.
