The Pulling Pen, the title of the present book, was inspired by my master's thesis published in 2013. I live in Iran, a beautiful country with a long history and an ancient civilisation. A country that, fortunately, has not been colonised for very long. But I belong to a minority race, (the Kurdish race) which is losing its language, culture, customs and identity under the rule of the dominant power. But what to do? What is the solution? This question has been nagging at me for a long time but no way. I began to identify with all those who had lost their everything. The language of Ahmadou Kourouma seduced me.
