So when her wealthy adoptive parents-in a flash of frustrating cluelessness-drop her into rehab just so she can get picked up by some shadow organization, Naiya can't help but feel like everything she thought she knew about herself is wrong. Because these people push her to the limits of her capabilities and beyond without even blinking, and she learns she's not the only thing that goes bump in the night. Born and raised in Texas, Becca Lynn Mathis has been writing stories and daydreaming about other worlds since she was a little girl reading books in the branches of the tree in her front yard. As she grew, so did her love of stories, so much so that she often got in trouble at school for writing them, even if her other work was already done. Today, she is a graduate of Lynn University in Boca Raton, FL with her B.S. in psychology. She is a dreamer of the highest order, involving herself in as much storytelling and geekery as she can manage, whether that's playing Dungeons & Dragons (or Pathfinder), prepping a musical performance for the next local renaissance or pirate faire, or simply getting lost for hours playing video games like Beat Saber or World of Warcraft. She lives in sunny South Florida with her amazingly supportive husband, their awesome blended family and two goofy dogs.
