Autorenporträt
Henry has now turned 30 and is absolutely fine with it. His decision to move back in with his mother is deemed a sensible one, and if anybody questions his credibility as an adult, he reminds them that he adopted a traumatised dog when he lived on his own and nurtured him into society by himself. If this hasn't won them round, he says he lived in Brixton for three years to get some things out of his system and is now "career focused". His decision to transition his life towards being a poet was met with general acceptance from friends and family, partly due to him being so miserable and hapless in normal jobs, and partly due to the fact that becoming a successful poet allows no room whatsoever for newfound arrogance. If anything, it encourages more people to laugh at him and cast judgement. Nowadays, whenever he has to refer to himself, he usually flaps between "poet" or "artist" or "author", but occasionally says "tortured soul" if the person he is speaking to is unpleasant and he wants to make them vomit. The truth of it all is that each of the labels makes him feel uncomfortable. On his to-do list for the next 12 months, is to release The Little Book of Horrid Hopes and Humanimals, start work on another book similar to this one, and for the fourth bullet point he's just written "lady". Three out of four are realistic.
