This volume discusses adolescent mental health concerns in non-Western contexts and situations, ranging from common mental disorders to building life skills. It combines previous literature and empirical work on various disorders to provide a comprehensive account of cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) for adolescents. The volume covers a wide spectrum of conditions, ranging from anxiety to affective disorders and other associated disorders. It gives a practical guide to the management of disorders with specific focus on case vignettes, outlining session details and specific techniques to be used throughout the intervention plan. A detailed appendix elaborating various CBT techniques is included in the volume. Dr. (Prof.) Manju Mehta is currently Professor of Clinical Psychology in Department of Psychiatry and head of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry division at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, India. She underwent training at National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS), Bangalore and obtained her PhD from PGIMER Chandigarh, India. She has been trained in Medical Education Technology (UK) and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) from USA. She was in-charge of under-graduate psychiatry teaching at AIIMS from 1984-2010. She has been involved in regular training programs in stress management, within and outside the institute. She has been imparting training to members of judiciary on a regular basis and has been conducting the psychological assessment of Indian expedition members to Antarctica. She is credited with starting the regular PhD program since 2000 and has supervised 18 PhD theses in clinical psychology, 45 MD theses in Psychiatry,Pediatrics and many other medical and surgical specialties. She is the recipient of the prestigious Dr. MV Govindaswamy Memorial Gold Medal from NIMHANS and CS Kang Oration award (IACP) in recognition of her contribution to the discipline of Clinical Psychology. She has been President of three associations-Indian Association for Child and Adolescent Mental Health (IACAM) and of Indian Association of Clinical Psychologists (IACP) and Indian Society for Pain Research and Therapy. She has been advisor to many advisory boards and examiner in various universities. She has travelled to all the seven continents and presented papers in national and international conferences. Dr. Rajesh Sagar is currently working as Professor in department of Psychiatry, AIIMS. After completing MBBS and post-graduation (MD) in psychiatry, he did Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) of UK. He is Secretary to Central Mental Health Authority (Govt. of India). He is the member of National Academy of Medical Sciences (MNAMS) & fellow of International Medical Science Academy (FIMSA), and editor of Journal of Mental Health & Human Behavior (official journal of Indian psychiatry Society-north zone). He has received several awards, honors & fellowship in the field of psychiatry. He has published about 200 research papers/chapters and has presented several papers in national and international conferences. He has been the investigators for more than 50 funded projects. He has been advisor/ expert member to WHO, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Central Council of Homeopathic Research, National Brain Research Centre, National Board of Education, Central Adoption Resource Authority etc.
