Nigeria has the largest population in Africa with a population of about 182 million as at 2015 by the World Bank of which more than half of the people are about 30 years of age and below. Thus, Nigeria's population is made up of mostly young people. The adolescents, constituting the most sexually active group in the population, have become very important for discussion on matters relating to sexual intercourse and its concerns particularly in cases of STIs including HIV/AIDS and the resultant unwanted pregnancies (Alubo, 2014). Hence, this study looked at the evidence which examines the use of contraceptives among adolescents in High Schools. The aim of this research is to complete a Rapid Evidence Assessment (REA) that determines the behaviours around contraceptive use in adolescents in order to increase their access and utilisation of contraceptive service among High/ Secondary School adolescents. The studies indicated generally low level of knowledge about contraceptives following the curriculum based Family Life HIV Education (FLHE) programme intervention with only 13% success rate achieved so far.
