The author was raised in Oklahoma and Arkansas in the late 1940's and early 1950's in or near several rural communities. Later, he also spent time in Missouri, in an area known as 'tornado alley.' Soaking up first hand knowledge of small town life, he witnessed many destructive twisters in his childhood. These became some of his most vivid memories during those formative years. Decades later, he has been able to recount them in "A Return To Meadow Wood". In the war torn 1960's, after graduating from the medical training center at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, he served as a medical specialist in Southeast Asia. He was able to observe the destructive effects of PTSD in patients, friends, and in himself. Then, and through the years, the knowledge gained from these experiences has enabled him to tell this story with a degree of intimacy and understanding that would otherwise not have been possible. Later, after his military service, he was a full time bookseller for many years. During that time his childhood interest in novel writing was rekindled, bringing with him a visual page quality to his style. Subsequently, he experienced God's calling to write this faith-based, inspirational novel. Born out of his life's experiences, it has been a work of many years. During its development he has felt the presence of the Lord inspiring him in his writing every step of the way. He presently lives in the Southwest, currently at work on a new book. Reflecting the very deep spiritual commitment in his life, his career goal is to continue writing novels that will impact readers in positive, uplifting, life changing ways.
