Conway is located along the Waccamaw River and is about 14 miles slightly northwest of Myrtle Beach. Myrtle Beach was once called New Town and was a summer retreat for Conway residents. The Waccamaw River is one of the few Black Water Rivers in the world. This quaint riverfront town is one of the best kept secrets near the Myrtle Beach Grand Strand area. A look at how decades and major developments have changed the lifestyle of this historic Riverfront Town. In the midst of and surrounded by change, the small town values and hospitality remain firmly rooted in the people. Life is still wonderful in this small town just 14 miles slightly northwest of the Myrtle Beach tourist areas and beaches. I have truly enjoyed coming back home again.
