In these times of digitalization of society and advanced technologies, there are few of them, but there are still skeptics who assume: it's all said and done. Health problems, whether old or new, many or few, complex or easy to solve, always need solutions, because they are in the lives of people who suffer from them. Putting science in function of them is a social responsibility. Existing technology has proved to be insufficient and in some cases harmful, although we have another weapon, always driven by individual or collective needs, which has been in use for a long time but is now more essential than ever, and that is health prevention. Mostly implemented in developing countries due to the scarcity of available resources. Intestinal tuberculosis and COVID-19 are infectious diseases which, although preventable and controllable, cause death. Much remains to be learned from them and this book shows a way forward.
