A SCARBOROUGH LASS is Malcolm Bruce's first stand-alone novel. His firs six novels covered the saga of the Sheader family of Scarborough, starting during the First World War with THUNDER FROM THE SEA and finishing in 1963 with SHEADER'S DYNASTY. A SCARBOROUGH LASS is set in the current day, a fascinating tale of a wartime mystery solved, the decent into madness and ultimately the murderous action of our hero Michael James' ex- girlfriend, and the finding of new love in Scarborough. AUTHOR MALCOLM BRUCE worked for a number of years at The Naval Ordnance Inspection Establishment in Sheffield. He left when the establishment closed and transferred south. He joined Sheffield Transport Department taking early retirement in 1993. In 1989 he was appointed a JP and in 2002 he and his wife moved to Scarborough. He is currently chairman of Scarborough Historical Aircraft Club and also of The Scarborough Talking News, a charity which provides local news on recordings for the blind and partially sighted.
