Jill Nevile was born in England and lived there until she retired in her fifties. She has worked in theatre, as an adult education tutor and freelance writer. Her poems (including some in this collection) have been published in British magazines and anthologies. In 2002 she moved to Australia and settled on the NSW Central Coast, where she joined an active poetry group. So began what Jill calls her 'poetry period'. Inspired by her new environment and motivated by group workshops, she became more prolific. Jill Nevile's poems have appeared in Australian anthologies, journals and newspapers. In 2006 and 2007 her work featured in the WEA Sydney Poetry Project. With her theatrical background, she enjoys performing poetry at public events and is a regular reader at venues in her local area.
