A sedimentological study of the cores from the Niger Delta using visual descriptions only and relating it to the measured core porosity and permeability. Facies association and depositional processes was established from the lithology, grain sizes, sorting, sedimentary structures, ichnofossils, sedimentary textures and facies architectures. Variation in depositions over a short range of time gives rise to high frequency packages as the sea level changes. This part of Niger Delta experienced multiple regressions. as the sea progrades. It transited laterally from fining upwards sequences in the tidal flats to coarsening upwards in the shoreface offshore.
