This study uses a geographic information system to conduct a site suitability analysis to find an optimal location for an inland port in the Southern California region. The inland port would potentially connect the Los Angeles and Long Beach port complexes by rail to a separate location within Southern California - relieving some of the container truck traffic and pollution in the surrounding area. This study is based off of previous works, including a location-allocation model done in the same region.
