The impact on one family and the emotional trauma that they experience as the War takes its toll on them. Written from a mother's personal fight for understanding and answers to the War in Iraq. The truth of the matter is that not only are the Soldiers at War. the families left behind in the states go through their own personal war each day. Her torment and continuous obsession with the War takes her to politics and media issues that overwhelm her. The horrid display of media coverage and untruths that disembowels our democracy are treason. The media has worn out its welcome in her eyes. The political race has become nothing more than two children arguing over issues of the past. There is no rhyme or reason to our political parties. They are not dealing with the issues that are posed from the American public, yet they continue to fight over issues of who and who didn't serve in the Vietnam War. The emotional roller coaster that this mother experiences after not hearing from her son and then the few precious moments that they get to interact are shared with the readers. The painful truth of the War, the deaths of soldiers, and the realization of the danger the soldiers face come to life in her emotional quest to show America that the families suffer from War along with the soldiers in the field.
