Autorenporträt
Bestselling author Angus Fubara is an immigrant from the West African country of Nigeria. Born and raised in the Ibani Kingdom of Opobo in the mid-seventies and early eighties to a conservative Christian family home and the youngest of six siblings, Fubara's love of art and storytelling started when he was a child. He would gather around his elders and kinsmen to hear tales of old and stories of great heroes and heroines. Fubara is a small business owner with experience in hospitality management, competitive market analysis, and feasibility service. For the past two decades, he has been offering senior-level leadership courses and successful performances across many different hotel brands, styles, and service levels. In 2014, Fubara was awarded the prestigious "Spirit of Embassy Award" by Hilton Worldwide for his incredible problem-solving abilities within the Embassy Suites brand. He earned honorable mentions in 2011 and 2012 for the Isaac Hunter Excellence in Service Award in the Raleigh/Wake County area. He was also honorably mentioned by the Raleigh News and Observer in 2014. Propelled by so many people, notably his grandmother, mother, father, and Nelson Mandela's peaceful anti-apartheid movement in South Africa, Fubara became a community organizer and mentor to young men and women in his community and church. He has also partnered and participated in giving over 27 pints of blood for the Red Cross and has actively participated in raising funds and assembling over 70 backpacks with school supplies for young students and underserved communities. Fubara considers himself an imaginative craftsman and a new generational storyteller. His love of the arts endeared him to become a frequent participant in his elementary and secondary school drama club and a chorister in his family church where his mother led the choir and drama department. His love of storytelling and artistry inspired him to create fantasies, scenarios, and stories in his mind--stories he desires to continue sharing to the world in his unique way. His first professional writing sale was the classic and highly acclaimed children's storybook, "The Adventures of Ricky the Golden Rooster." He is also the author of the critically acclaimed novel "A Song of Nubia: The Northern Invaders" and soon-to-be-published "Pirates of Jollytown: The Lost Treasures of Salazar Ortega." Fubara has a bachelor's degree in Sociology, still mentors young people, and volunteers on occasion. In his free time, Angus loves watching sports, listening to gospel, jazz, and classical music, and playing chess and soccer. Angus currently resides in North Carolina, USA with his family.
