It is known that overt hypothyroidism leads to an increase in plasma cholesterol levels and blood pressure Most studies in subclinical hypothyroidism show comparable, but less pronounced association. As the thyroid function and components of metabolic syndrome is influenced by genetic, geographic, dietary and other factors, this study was earned out aiming to investigate the relationship between the thyroid dysfunction and components of the metabolic syndrome in the patients visiting to Santosh Hospital.
