This monograph tackles the problem of translating the attributes of Allah in the Qur'an. It falls into three chapters and a conclusion: In the first chapter, religious, cultural and linguistic aspects of the attributes of Allah are discussed. The second chapter deals with the tools used by the translators to render these attributes. These tools include componential analysis, Skopostheorie, and collocation. In chapter three, some problematic attributes are analyzed. The first problem dealt with is the culture-specific attributes and collocations like (i.e. Most Gracious, Most Merciful). Another problem is how to deal with the multi-connotative attributes like (i.e. mighty). A third problem is that, sometimes, the religious context is totally different from everyday language. The fourth problem dealt with is how to render the power of collocation. Most attributes used in the Qur'an are found in collocations like (All-Mighty, All-Wise), (All-clement, Merciful), etc. Fifthly comes the problem of repetition and synonymy. All these topics and others are discussed in a very interesting way.
