Understanding of buffalo husbandry practices followed by the farmers in a region is primary to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the rearing systems and formulate suitable intervention policies. Breeding, feeding and management practices plays a crucial role in the improvement of the productivity of buffaloes and economy of milk producers in a particular area. Further, sustainability of the buffalo farming is also dependent on the aspirations of farmers on buffalo farming. Taking all these aspects into consideration, a study on adoption of practices and sustainability of buffalo farming practices in Guntur and Prakasam districts of Andhra Pradesh was conducted.
