Safety is an important aspect of any construction project. Safety of construction worker is a major issue all over the world. Every country has set of guidelines regarding safety. The role of Construction Company, consultant and enforcement agency affect the safety issue. The cost spent on safety slightly affects the economics of project. The cost of safety is different for every project, depending on the scope of work, the results of the present study show that, on average, the safety cost works out to be about one percent of the total project cost.The contractors have started implementing safety practices especially in metro cities. Although India labor laws are among the best in the world but their implementation is obstructed and slow. For past years, safety guidelines and cost are incorporated in the contract, so it is compulsory for contractors to abide by the guidelines to avoid the risk of penalty. Knowing the exact amount spent on safety and their distribution helps in improving safety environment for construction workers
