Information and Communication Technology (ICT) can be defined as the handling and processing of information (text, images, graphs, instruction etc.) for use, by means of electronic and communication devices such as computers, camera, telephone etc. ICT can also be referred as electronic or computerized devices, assisted by human and interactive materials that can used for a wide range of teaching and learning as well as for personal use.The present study depicts that ICT has the potential to accelerate, enrich and deepen skill; to moderate and engage students in learning to help relate school experiences to work practices; contribute to radical changes in school; to strengthen teaching and to provide opportunities for connection between the school and the world. This study focuses its importance on the perception of ICT usage among higher secondary students and to meet their educational and social needs. The present study also deals with the impact of ICT which influence students' study habits and academic performance.
