In the present study, a systematic investigations on the role of preparation conditions and/or experimental parameters namely dopant concentrations, pH, spin rate etc on the physical and electrical properties of spin coated ZnO thin films are made. They are optimized to achieve appreciable film properties for pure and doped ZnO thin films. The pure ZnO is considering as sample (A), dopant incorporated (magnesium (Mg))(pH 9.0, 10.0 and 11.0) are labelled as sample B, C and D respectively. The dopant cadmium (Cd) incorporated samples (pH 9.0, 10.0 and 11.0) are named as E, F and G respectively. The dopant levels are fixed as 5, 10 & 15 weight %. The thin films are prepared through microcontroller assisted programmable spin coating system. The pH varying agent and pH of the growth medium are chosen as liquid NH3 and 9.0, 10.0 & 11.0respectively. Ethanol (non aqueous) has been chosen as the solvent for all stages of experiment. The as prepared pure and doped ZnO thin films are subjected for structural, morphological, electrical and optical studies using XRD, HRTEM, HRSEM, UV-Vis-NIR absorption spectroscopy, FT-IR and DC and AC conductivity measurements respectively.
