Things do start to change for Alan, he finds a new job and a romantic partner. Then the stock market crashes, and he must leave New York City to the South for farmwork. Here he meets the Lavoir familiy, a tyrannical alcoholic husband and Southern belle wife, changing his life forever. Florin writes dramatic dialogues. Bobby Apple has ghostwritten several books.
