This work provides insights and essence of Supply chain with focus on Forecasting, Bullwhip effect, Inventory models, Performance evaluation by Balanced Scorecard.The supply chain is a bridge between demand and supply. It conveys the demand to the supply point and delivers the supply to the demand point. It is a network of facilities and distribution options that consists of procurement of materials, transformation of materials into intermediate and finished products and the distribution of finished products to the customers. Hence coordination between various players in the chain is an important criterion for its effective management. The relationships should be strongest among players who directly pass the baton, but the entire team needs to make a coordinated effort to win the race. Supply chain management can be viewed as the process of strategically managing the procurement and storage of materials, parts, finished inventory and related information through the various entities and its marketing channels in such a way that the current and future profits are maximized through fulfillment cost effective customer orders.
