Developing a bilayer drug delivery system of drugs only due to recent advance in technology. In present study Bi-layer tablet of venlafexine hydrochloride was prepared and evaluated. This tablet contains two layers of API which called as instant layer and matrix layer. This tablet may helpful for reducing multi dosing therapy in depressed patients experience difficulty in taking multi dose of drug.In vitro data obtained for Bilayer tablet of venlafaxin Hydrochloride showed prolonged drug release. Tablets of different release kinetics could be obtained by varying the formulation variables. Thus, Venlafaxine Hydrochloride is most suitable drug candidate for the antidepressants. Based on the above considerations, formulation F6 was selected as optimized formula, a perusal of table indicated that the parameters of Bilayer were satisfactory for the intended use.
