This research was undertaken in order to address the issue of the refugee crisis in Australia. It is proposed that a clear understanding of the Christian theology of the hospitality of God, can make a significant contribution to the current refugee crisis in Australia. There are three sections to the book. The first part focuses on the background and history of the Australian refugee policy and how the policy has been developed throughout the history of Australia. The second section explores what the Bible teaches about Christian hospitality. It addresses the moral nature and work of God, the life and ministry of Jesus on earth, the practices of hospitality practices among God's people in both the Old and New Testaments, and the present practices of hospitality among the Churches in Australia. The final part of the thesis makes the proposal that a theology of hospitality has the potential to improve future refugee policy in Australia which means renewing the refugee policy of Australian to include the principles of Christian hospitality that will also comply to the InternationalRefugee and Human Right Laws.
