A TRIBE DESPISED is about a tribe of people called THEM. The THEM people do not get along with other groups of people very well, unless they are in control of everyone and everything. However, there were people before THEM, and everyone finally enjoys peace when the THEM people accept that they are no longer in control of others. A TRIBE DESPISED is about a tribe of people called THEM. The THEM people do not get along with other groups of people very well, unless they are in control of everyone and everything. However, there were people before THEM, and everyone finally enjoys peace when the THEM people accept that they are no longer in control of others. People around the world have a tendency to pre-judge ideas and people they may not know. A TRIBE DESPISED is about the one being described and judged, and also insights into the describer. Often, people judge because of a lack of history, knowledge or interaction with those who may be "different" and "unfamiliar" to them. However, the main theme of this story is that respectful contact and "TRUTH WILL SET ALL OF US FREE" when we reduce false impressions about each other. One path to Truth is by creating BEAUTIFUL THINGS & IDEAS. The original people, the PEOPLE OF ORIGIN know this, and after the THEM people have been "magically overwhelmed", everyone learns just how important it is to make, and do, beautiful things…especially for each other. A TRIBE DESPISED is a delightful story for all ages. For the young, it introduces some very basic character-building qualities that encourage children to think beyond their own self- interest. For the older reader, it can restore memories of just how beautiful the world can truly be when we tell the truth, and create a world full of BEAUTY-FULL things that encourage love for one another. Autorenporträt
Sharon Lee Minor King, Ph.D. has had a wealth of beautiful opportunities and experiences that inspired this little book with such a big message. The main message is to get beyond our collectively learned and shared beliefs about others and enjoy the gift of life and love for all that inhabits the earth. Sharon is a native Washingtonian, who grew up in a village-type community named Eastland Gardens in the District of Columbia, located near the Maryland (USA) state line. As a child, many adults that included extended family and a host of attentive neighbors tolerated and cultivated her precociousness. Her grandmother, Hattie Mae Williams, who was one of the first residents of the self-contained community, purchased the family home in 1945. Sharon was one of the fourth-generation grandchildren to enjoy a childhood that allowed children to just be children. The confidence and cultivation she gained as a child is also evident in her accomplishing many achievements within a variety of academic and artistic fields. Sharon is a visual performance artist, cultural anthropologist, educator, musician, and author. She is also an ordained Christian minister, with a primary focus on biblical studies and Christian education. She is the mother of a son and daughter and a grandmother to four grandchildren. Her love for children around the world has given her wonderful opportunities to enjoy and mentor many diverse people as her students, colleagues, and friends. Like her organization, A Minor Enterprise, Sharon hopes this book will cause some major impact among those who value and are committed to finding ways to bring more peace and love of beauty throughout the world.
