When I attempt to describe the poetry of Maureen Higson, the first thing that comes to my mind is that she epitomizes the difference between a poet and someone who writes poetry. What is the difference; you may ask? It is the difference between someone who draws buildings and an architect, the difference between a man holding a knife and a surgeon; it is the difference between someone with a fiddle and a virtuoso. In short, it is the difference between someone with inspiration and someone with inspiration and a polished understanding of their craft earned over years of toil. Her words sing of wisdom, of common sense, of compassion, but most of all they just sing. And that is the difference between a craftsman and an artist. Come see for yourself; become engrossed in another world for a while. I promise the old one will be anxiously waiting when you're done.

Autorenporträt
Divorced, with two children. One of each !! Now living in Derbyshire, England, in an old town called Ashbourne, Born in London, a long time ago !! I spent 8yrs in Northern Ireland with the family, in a beautiful place called Seahill, overlooking the sea naturally !! and met the most friendly people, even though it was at the 'time of the troubles' It was a life changing experience for me, my beloved Grandmother died, I had the strongest feeling to 'go and look for her'??? I met a lady Rosemary who took me to a church in Belfast, I am not attracted to churches of any kind, (being put off at an early age) but this church was bright, warm, and friendly !! Although I did wonder what it had to do with Grandma'? It turned out be a physic church, I could easily see it was a great healing place in those dark days. .and was packed full with every other religion !! I got into learning all I could, developing my psychic talents, and found I was good at it, and learned easily, eventually being reunited with Grandma who gave me some very 'down to earth advice. I have never liked labels of any kind, they inhibit the individual but I did develop my psychic talents and have been able to help a lot of people since.. who are now trusted friends !! I loved walking in the Derbyshire hills and moors, (stopping at many of the homely pubs), with the family and dogs, Sadly, I fell off my trampoline, which damaged a leg, so my walking days are over, now. I Concentrate on poetry which I hope you will enjoy!!
