This 1748 publication, edited by naval chaplain Richard Walter (1717â 85), documents the extraordinary and lucrative circumnavigation accomplished by the British naval officer George Anson (1697â 1762) in 1740â 4. Despite the significant loss of crew, the expedition became famous for its capture of Spanish treasure.
