Terry Sullivan is an author and wine travel writer. Taking thousands of photographs and writing articles, Terry and his wife Kathy visited over 1,300 wineries and vineyards in Europe, North America and Oceania. Terry and Kathy have written three books. The third book, Georgia, Sakartvelo: the Birthplace of Wine was published in March 2014. Since 2008, Terry and Kathy have been making wine at home and at wineries in Virginia, Maryland and the country Georgia. Terry has been a presenter at the International Wine Tourism Conference in Perugia, Italy, Zagreb, Croatia and Tbilisi, Georgia. After 34 years in education as an elementary and middle school teacher and university lecturer, Terry Sullivan began a second career as an author, writer and blogger. The most recent book, Georgia, Sakartvelo: the Birthplace of Wine was published in March 2014. The book examines the 8,000-year history of wine growing and winemaking in what is now the country Georgia. Taking thousands of photographs and writing articles, Terry and his wife Kathy visited and wrote about over 1,200 wineries and vineyards in Europe, North America and Oceania. In 2008 Terry began making wine both at home as well as at wineries in Virginia, Maryland and the country Georgia. Terry is the only winemaker in Maryland making a wine in qvevri buried underground. Qvevri winemaking is the only wine making process that is on the UNESCO list of Intangible Cultural Heritage. Terry has been a presenter at the International Wine Tourism Conference 2012 in Perugia, Italy, 2013 in Zagreb, Croatia and 2014 in Tbilisi, Georgia. He has also presented at the Eastern Winery Exposition in Pennsylvania in 2013. In 2015, Terry presented at the annual Wine Bloggers Conference, meeting in Corning, New York.
