The personal narrative of Ralph Freund, who flew 32 missions during World War II as a B-17 flight engineer and top turret gunner and member of the 379th Bomb Group. From the first mission on May 22, 1944 to the last one, a little over two months later, on July 25, 1944, including two missions on D-Day, Ralph talks about the dangers, fears, triumphs and close calls as a member of a B-17 crew who all survived.
