Autorenporträt
Sun Shuyun, geboren 1963 in einem Dorf in Zentralchina. Ihr Vater war Mitglied der Kommunistischen Partei, glühender Verehrer Mao Zedongs und Teilnehmer an der Kulturrevolution. Nach ihrem Studium in Peking erhielt Sun Shuyun ein Stipendium der Oxford University. Sie lebt und arbeitet heute als Schriftstellerin, Film- und TV-Produzentin in Peking und London.
