Currently A2 has 2x2 lanes from Riga till S n te, and after that it turns to 1x1 lanes. A2 is one the first 2x2 road in Latvia, and also one of the most bussiest road in Latvia, especially between Riga and Sigulda. It is planned that in 2011 there will start reconstruction of the part between Riga and Sen te, to turn it in to a limited-access road with 110 km/h speed limit. The current speed limit is 90 km/h. The construction should end in 2015. The average AADT on A2 in 2010 was 7296 cars per day.
