The short story is totally one of fiction and is not based on any persons in reality. The story, Aayla's Secret, deals with how she resolves aspects of her sexual identity. It deals with the issues in a way, which enables Aayla to come to terms with them firstly with her councilor, then later with her parents and finally communicates them with her siblings. By means of discussions the matters raised are dealt with sympathetically by all and the supports in terms of family and professionals are readily available, so that the matters are resolved in a satisfactory way. It is not intended to be a blueprint of how to handle the kind of issues raised and the situation, for one family can be very different from another. Furthermore, the resources available to the individual and the family and the levels of community and professional support systems can vary greatly.
