ABC Apple Pie is a book for elementary school children about the tale of an apple pie and how some town folks relate to it in various ways when wanting to taste it. The Apple Pie ABC is an 18th Century children rhyme was meant to teach children the order of the alphabet. According to The Oxford Dictionary of Nursery Rhymes (Oxford and New York, 2nd edition), pp. 53-4 by Peter & Iona Opie (1997). The earliest mention of the rhyme was in religious work in 1671 only using the letter A to G. The first printed version of the rhyme was in "Child's new plaything" in London 1742 and Boston 1750, this book was intended to make the learning process fun. After that, in London 1747 and Boston 1764, appear in "Tom Thumb's Playbook" for the early learning purpose. The more famous publication was A Apple Pie by Kate Greenaway in London 1886, which due to her wonderful illustration get to captivate a big public nationally and internationally. Up today have being reprinted many times in the U.S. At the 18th century the writing of the capital letters I and J, and of U and V, was not differentiated, which explains the absence of the two vowels in the early versions. Maria Aduke Alabi es poeta, escritora y folklorista Afro-Dominicana, nació el 22 de agosto del año 1977, en Santo Domingo, República Dominicana y actualmente reside en San Diego, California. Es dueña y fundadora de Quisqueyana Press, empresa mediante la cual publica sus libros. Su pasión por la poesía de Alfonsina Storni, Neruda y Lorca la llevo a iniciarse en la escritura de poesía desde los nueve anos de edad, aunque no fue hasta los 30 cuando decidió tomar la escritura como una profesión pasando esta a formar parte importante en su diario vivir. Es una persona espiritual (no religiosa), creativa y apasionada, quien ademas de ser poeta y escritora es folklorista por pasión radicando en ella un gran interés por salvaguardar los tesoros culturales de su tierra natal. Ha sido premiada en diferentes concursos literarios. Ha publicado varios libros como son: "Versos en Matices"(Poesía), "Voz de la Nostalgia" I and II edicion (poesía), los libros infantiles "Llueve, Llueve" y su version en ingles "Rain, Rain", "Uno, Dos, Tres Amigos. One, Two, Three Friends", "Pollito Chick" y el tomo uno (de 7) de la colección "Canciones Infantiles Tradicionales Dominicanas" llamado "Doña Semana" la cual contiene canciones infantiles de su época infantil. También cuenta con varios poemas publicados en varias antologías poéticas.
